Who I Am
Sooo, I’ve been traveling for the past 7 years and finally decided to write a blog to share my experiences with others. Many people along the way have told me that I have inspired them to travel and it’s always been the best compliment to receive. I hope to inspire and help more people to travel to wherever their heart desires.
My name is Jenn and I’m 30 years old (eek, I cringe when I say that out loud). I started traveling in 2009 when I graduated from college and moved to South Korea to teach English. I fell in love with culture and have been exploring the world ever since. At time of writing, I’ll have been to 27 countries on 4 continents.
I’m also a huge ‘foodie’. I love food and feel it’s a big part of a country’s culture. So throughout my posts you’ll be seeing lots of food pics!
In addition to food, animals hold a big part of my heart. So get ready for pics of stray animals and loads from Africa (I did a 4 month backpacking trip there in 2012).
I’m a realist with a touch of naivety. I believe in giving people the benefit of the doubt and feel that everyone is good at heart. I’m like a little kid at Disney World when I’m in a new place and look to show you the world through my eyes. Saying that, I also can't stand pretentiousness and nonsense, hence the blog title. I'll tell you what things are really like, not some bullshit fantasy about what places could be like.
This blog is (hopefully) not just some annoying girl trying to brag about how awesome her life is, or how fit she is. My life isn't that interesting to be honest. I'm lucky enough to be able to live in London and travel. If anything, I just hope this blog makes you laugh and would be cool if it inspired you to try something new!
